What is a Health & Wellness Coach?
First, let’s define the word “health.”
“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Constitution of the World Health Organization
As defined, we must be proactive about our health, not reactive. We may not be ill, but that does not mean we are well. In other words, we may be surviving, but not thriving.
To that effect, we must acknowledge that we are products of our environment and if our environmental conditions do not encourage our basic well-being, then we can not expect growth.
A health coach is studied in diet and health issues, and they motivate individuals to cultivate positive behaviors that help them achieve a sustainable, balanced lifestyle aligned with their wellness goals.
How can a Wellness Coach help me?
As described above, we must make daily, intentional decisions that better our environment so that we can thrive.
A healthy environment is one that is balanced. Just as a tomato needs the right mix of water, sunshine and nutrients to grow, so too do we need the right mix of movement, mindfulness and motivation.
Depending on your unique goals, our Wellness Coaching session might look something like the below, but our overall mission is to educate and empower you with tools and techniques to heighten your mind-body connection so that you feel great in your body and you have the energy and confidence to live the life you’ve imagined.
